Baanetse Machona is an active community leader currentlyworking as Founder/Chaiperson of Exellence Leadership School (e.l.s). He had recently served as the Only Member of The Katlehong Library Community Participation Comitter Youth Development Portfolio, which he left on the 29th of April 2016. Before official appointment, he had hosted  several youth development related events at the same library.

Career

Baanetse Machona has been active in his career from an early age of 14  when he became a member of the Congress Of South African Student and then Chairperson in Alafang High School, one year later he became deputy chairperson of the congress in Katlehong Branch. At the age of 17 when doing grade 11, he left party politics and joined the school debating team, in November of the same year, he leaded the Debating team in the Love Life National Games and they won bronze Medals, and he won a gold medal for best speaker at the same event.

In 2013, Baanetse Machona Became the Deputy Chairperson of The LRC in Alafang High School, because of his determination he was later regarded as President of that School. With the limited time he had as a learners leader who is in matric, Baanetse Managed to organize LRC presidents around the area of Katlehong and formed a united front of which a new learners code of conduct for all 5 participating schools was born. The union became in active as soon as the LRC presidents of the participating schools left office in 2014. In the same year, he attempted to open a Library for his then school, but never succeded due to lack of support from teachers and learners.

The year After Matric (2014) Baanetse couldn't get to varsity due to various reasons including lack of finance, and the fact that he couldnt study political science with a certificate with admition to a diploma. But that did not degrade the spirit that he has in serving the people. Baanetse invested the time he had in the township for better things, he joined the LoveLife Mpintshi Crew and spent most time going to schools motivating school learners and teaching them about prevention. In the Middle  of that year, he published www.k1hs.blogspot.com after seeing its need in highschools. The blog was initially aimed at publishing high school journals and teenage content, provide online learning and teaching and content download. He then discontinued updating the site due to the amount of work it demanded, he then published his personal blog early in 2015 www.bmachona.com.  In 2015, he enrolled at the Ekurhuleni West College for Business management after realizing the need for business and entrepreneurship skills and knowledge. When not studying or doing his duties as head of youth development, he teaches the youngsters of his neighborhood about business and entrepreneurship.
